- 53 YO
- Been around the block
- Have experimented with PS, injections, lasers, botox, spa treaments, derma this and derma that...
- I probably could have bought a nice little vacation cottage somewhere with what I have spent over the years..
- And here is the big one.. I don't regret anything one bit. Am I vain.. you could say that!!
Today I want to take a look at eye creams:
And more specifically anti-wrinkle creams/serums.
I have tried many brands (Regenerist, La Mer, copper peptides, nano peptides, Pro-Rx, Periconne, ROC, Kinerase).. but products that contain Hyaluronic Acid seem to have the best results for me.
So a DISCLAIMER and a Science Lesson:
Consult your doctor before you decide to take HA or any other type of supplement to make sure it is an appropriate treatment for your particular health condition.
Hyaluronic Acid as described by the Clevland Clinic
http://my.clevelandclinic.org/healthy_living/skin_care/hic_understanding_the_ingredients_in_skin_care_products.aspx
Skin care products containing this substance are often used in conjunction with vitamin C products to assist in effective penetration. Hyaluronic acid (also known as a glycosaminoglycan) is often touted for its ability to "reverse" or stop aging. In news reports, you might have heard of hyaluronic acid as the "key to the fountain of youth." This is because the substance occurs naturally (and quite abundantly) in humans and animals, and is found in young skin, other tissues, and joint fluid. Hyaluronic acid is a component of the body’s connective tissues, and is known to cushion and lubricate. As you age, however, the forces of nature destroy hyaluronic acid. Diet and smoking can also affect your body’s level of hyaluronic acid over time. Skin care products with hyaluronic acid are most frequently used to treat wrinkled skin
Now there are some expensive products with HA, Peter Thomas Ross has one called VIZ 1000, but again, I have to give kudos and 4 STARS to the drug store brand of Neutrogena, and I use this every day under makeup.. it has worked great for me. it's about $20 and you can often find coupon's.
