Really.. WTF Gives..

So, after my little "baby your pouch" talk with the doc, I have been doing just THAT.
...and walking in this heat and humidity to stimulte that metabolism, in other words.. I am exercising.

What I am saying is that I am "oh so trying hard" to be the perfect bandster. Small meals, weighed and spread out, drinking the water, no snacks at night, and making sure all the protein in being consumed.

And as I mentioned on Linda's Bandwidth post... I am truly restraining myself  on the food volume.. I have had to literally measure my food in little F'in glad cups with lids to make sure I am staying at the 1/2 cup amount.. I feel like a dog at the kennel.. here it's feeding time and you get half a cup.. now go wage your tail..

So I get on the scale this morning and I am up two F'in pounds. Tomorrow will be one week since my fill...

This is just so unfair.. yeah I am moaning and groaning.. but what the hell am I doing wrong!!!

So, I figure alright I must be constipated.. so I give my self a "car bomb" you know.. a laxitive.
Well, I am just shootin' blanks of hot air..  nothing is budging..

I really think I am destined to just be fat.

There.. I am done complaining.

Go Flyers!

  1. I just peed a little when I read "shooting blanks of hot air" - OMG, that cracked me up.

Hang in there - good behavior will be rewarded by the scale, I promise! :)

  2. Hang in there, sometimes your body doesn't believe you're being so good to it, so it rebels a little. You'll be rewarded for your good deeds really soon!

  4. You are not destined to be fat. I know your frustration but I know you'll break through!

  5. I am exactly where you are. Minus the laxative thing, but plus practically ODing on green tea. Frustrating doesn't even begin to cover it. I will say that my clothes feel looser. but what I WANT is for that little number to drop...and it isn't.

I should be losing weight just in terms of the literally HANDFULS of hair I am pulling out...and yet...here I am in limbo. Screw it...let's go get some margaritas!

  6. HAHAHA CAR BOMB!I love it! The scale is bound to move soon, it has too! Keep up the good work, and it will pay off! Our bodies do crazy things sometimes...(retain water, constipation, muscle growth) you name it, we've all been there! Keep smiling :)

  7. It has to be hormones or something. Don't even worry about it.

  8. Hang in there! Heat and exercise, when mixed together, are known to cause water retention. It will come off! You are amazing and this weight loves you...but eventually your body will give it the old heave-ho...

  10. Sometimes I want to bomb the scale. Mine can really fluctuate - you should see movement soon. I have those glad containers too - kind of depressing.

  11. Stop beating up my friend like that..."destined to be fat"...are you kidding me??? You're just going through a scale slump and when it's over in the very near future, the drop will likely make up for lost time.
Just keep doing what you're doing...GOD I HATE THAT 4 OZ. MEASURING CUP!!...again, are you kidding me?

  12. You know stress will stop you from losing, right? I suggest counting the calories as well as the amount of food, but don't stress (easy said than done I know!). Just count it all up over the next couple days and then look where you can change things. You may be too low or maybe too high depending on what is in those 1/2 cups. I am guessing that you are too low since I have seen that happen many many times. We watch what we eat so closely we cut out all the "bad" stuff and end up with an off balance day with low calories - and then we stress about it making it worse.

For example, when I was in bandster hell I was starving, but making sure I did no more than my cup at each meal. After noticing a bounce up I started counting again. Even though I was getting all my protein, I found that I was only getting about 800 calories, my fats were under 10%, and my over meals weren't balanced. I changed what I was eating (not how much) and things started working again. I upped my fats (good fats of course) and added in more veggies, fruits, and grains. It seems that when I get too focused on a couple details like protein and portion size (which is really what we are taught to do) I forget teh bigger picture.

  13. I love that you can't write about Glad cups without adding the F'ing in front of it. Sorry the scale is such a persnickety beast today. It's all kinds of humid here today and my fingers were like SAUSAGES and my scale was up 2.5 from yesterday. Hang in there, girlfriend.

  15. Holy hell...I am so frustrated for you!!! Tell your scales that I am coing your way if they do not MOVE!!! And ring your dr and tell him that you are not going to wag your tail anymore...you are going to growl!!!!! Seriously...I don't know what to suggest....water and hang in there....

  16. I'm so sorry to hear you are fighting this plateau... I think you are doing the right things... Sometimes a day or 2 of liquids will jump start the weight loss... I eat very little carbs per day and try to keep the protein pretty high but I have to lose much more weight. Alot of bandsters have said a weekend of crazy eating jump starts their weight loss too... I use my Myfitnesspal app on my iphone alot, It lets you count your calories, water intake and exercise. It takes your information and tells you what you need calorie wise to lose 1 pound a week or 2 pounds a week or even to maintain your weight or gain(Crazy thought)... I wish I was struggling to gain weight... I think that I could bear that burden. It's great! I am at my brother's house visiting in Newtown, PA... I see you're in Bucks County also. Go Flyers!!!!
