Holy Shish-kabob!!

I woke up this morning totally dehydrated.
Not to due to alcohol consumption, or illness
Just me NOT drinking enough water.

And so, like so many things of late
I forgot about the importance of water intake
Not only for weightloss but for being KIND to your body.
So.. I went at it with a few dabbles at the keyboard to remind me of the role water plays in our body and here is what I found...

WE NEED TO DRINK WATER!!

I mean just look at this guy and you will see how important it is to keep your self hydrated.

Even mild dehydration will cause you to feel the following:
  • chronic pains in joints and muscles,
  • lower back pain, headaches and constipation.
  • A strong odor to your urine, along with a yellow or amber color, indicates that you may not be getting enough water.
  • Thirst is an obvious sign of dehydration, and in fact, you need water long before you feel thirsty.

SO .... How Much Water do You Need to Drink?

A good estimate is to take your body weight in pounds and divide that number in half. That gives you the number of ounces of water per day that you need to drink. For example, if you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink at least 80 ounces of water per day.

If you exercise, you should drink another eight ounce glass of water for every 20 minutes you are active. If you drink alcohol, you should drink at least an equal amount of water.
So.. this is my goal for today.. to get more water in and hopefully plump up some of my wrinkles as well.

Be well my friends..

  7. OMG... I hope my weight keeps coming down because by your math, I need to take in almost 180 ounces of water a day and i exercise too... so theres another 24-30 ounces... I am already constantly peeing. I thought I was doing good at 100 ounces a day. Anyway, I will be blogging from the toilet from now on... LOL

  9. I read somewhere that if you forget how important water is to your body, remember how a thirsty plant perks up when you water it.

The last thing you need to feel is guilty - especially letting go and having some fun! Take it and roll with it baby!
